A tlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium celebrated its first birthday in 2018 as one of the most successful new professional sports stadiums in the country. “The level of business we’re doing is beyond what I expected,” said Scott Jenkins, the stadium’s general manager. “Normally with a new building it takes awhile to get everyone trained, but we hit the ground running.” In the month of August alone, the stadium saw 600,000 visitors, which is the amount a slower National Football League stadium will see over the course of an entire year, Jenkins said. After having worked for professional sports venues for more than a decade, Jenkins joined AMB Sports and Entertainment in 2014. AMB owns and operates Mercedes-Benz Stadium as well as the National Football League (NFL) and Major League Soccer (MLS) teams that call it home, the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United. During the stadium’s first year in business, it has hosted sell-out crowds for the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United, as well as big name concerts like Beyonce and Jay-Z, and collegiate sporting events like the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, the 2017 Southeastern Conference Football Championship and the 2018 College “Yes, we are in the sports entertainment business, but we’re really focused on giving back to the community.” Second to None From star-studded concerts to Super Bowls and college finals, the “revolutionary” Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s first year was explosive. 2 the EXECUTIVE
